Desert Group

Just imagine, 30 years ago UAE was once a country that didn't have the color GREEN. Everywhere was either sand or rocks. It's a desert country.

Ask yourself this question, within 30 years, this country has more green grass, trees, forests and green houses than any other country in the region. And it's not any green grass, it's bright green. lemon green, Irish green grass. How did they do that?

The answer is very simple. Get 10,000 men. and give each a sack of fertilizers and seeds, and give the order to green-up the country.

Desert Group is one of many companies that worked hard to decorate Dubai with it's green hand.

Designing landscapes, residential, plantscapes, government, maintenance...you name it! They even design pools and waterscapes. They designed the golf course in the middle of the city. They did the Arabian Ranches and Emirates Hills (Which is stated deep inside to the desert). When crossing a fly-over or going under it, check out those gardens and flowers. If flowers could talk, we would never hear the end of it. They're so many!

Think of the hot summer and water supply in this country. At the same time, think of how green UAE is going to be if you give it another 30 years. It's amazing how results can be when getting up at 5.00AM, and get on the company bus to drop you on a road to adjust those sprinklers and open the water on that beautiful green grass. Everyday you make sure they have enough water even if you feel thirsty. In that cold morning, wearing whatever can protect you from getting all soaked. That's how hard it can get to green-up the country. We call them workers, gardeners, or even sometimes laborers. I call them The Green Men. They're the one to appreciate when we have a great green environment.
