Finding a pure vegetarian restaurant is not really all that easy in UAE. So for a pure vegetarian like me, finding a pure-veg restaurant and a good one at that is like a continuous quest.

The Meena Bazar area in Dubai had some pure veg restaurants including Kamat (near Al Manzel Tower) and they told me they had a branch in Sharjah too. So when I realized that my residence was close to Kamat restaurant in Sharjah … it was like a major relief.

Kamat is one of the finest vegetarian restaurants around here. And they even serve Jain food (food with no onion, no garlic, no potato etc) ... in fact they are one of those very few who actually understand the meaning of Jain Food AND make delicious servings of the same.

There are other restaurants in the vicinity with prices lower than Kamat; but once you have dined at Kamat, you are kinda hooked. The restaurant is usually packed in the evening with at least a few families standing outside in waiting.

The food available in a fine and wide variety is absolutely delicious. The service is great and staff is pretty helpful. The restaurant is always clean and bright. It’s a warm feeling to be in there.

Parking can be a challenge especially on the weekends; the parking space outside the restaurant is pretty packed and you might have to drive around to find a spot. For those living close by, they even deliver (something I have used plenty of times)

I would normally eat out of Kamat at least 8-10 times in a month and mind you, I never got bored of their food

And how can I forget to mention their fabulous Ice Creams with speciality flavors like Paan which has received rave reviews from many

If you are looking for a pure veg restaurant, I am pretty confident, your search ends here

Kamt is very conveniently located on King Faisal street near the E-Max. Dinner at Kamat followed by a nice evening walk along the cool Buhaira Corniche makes a perfectly romantic evening :)

Hope the vegetarians find this review useful
