First things first, their chocolate cake is really good. I highly recommend it for all chocolate lovers. Their smoothies and juices are also tasty, with the coffee also top notch.

The shisha is also good, I would personally stay away from the lemon & mint as it tastes more like soap.

Now to the management: The head manager is not the kindest person, he can be quite rude when saying there are no more seats available. Also, there is a large sign at the bottom of the terrace giving the number to call for reservations. A. they rarely answer the number B. they apparently don't take reservations.

I would also avoid this place like the plague during Ramadan. They blast bab al hara so loud that you can barely hear what anyone is saying, and the ventilation is so bad one feels as if they are suffocating.

I hope Rawaq sorts out these problems because it's a really nice and affordable cafe in a great location.

Let's call this place 'ok'. I have to say, the first couple of times I went there, I really liked it. The shisha was good, the service was friendly, the food was alright...so I kept going back...but every time after that has been wildly mediocre at best. The shisha is still passable, but the service has really dwindled.

And what's UP with the music? Sometimes they play really LOUD but others it's really chill, and they keep changing up the volume with every track. Then they'll play like 5 khaleeji songs in a row...then 1 hip hop! What? Then back to khaleeji. It's just...weird...don't think I'm going back there.

I want to give this place 4 stars at least, because the setting is lovely (on the roof of the new Souq), and the shisha is good too…but for a place called Rawaq it wasn’t very rayiq the second time I went - the music was overwhelmingly loud and had a kind of bad-wedding-y feel to it.

But on my first trip it definitely made me wanna head back…so they get brownie points for that!
