It was damn surprising to see no review of the Sahara Centre. How can this mall be ignored.
Sahara Centre is a mall that is 'extremely conveniently' located on the Dubai-Sharjah border.
Next to the mall there is the boundry fence with a small gate which is used by people to cross over.
Sahara Mall has become a cross-over point for people who travel between Dubai & Sharjah.
Typically, Taxi's charge an extra 20 AED to crossover so people change Taxi’s here and save the 20 AED or simply catch the RTA bus on Dubai side which connects to the nearest Metro Station as well.
Well, enough about the location (which is something that makes the mall pretty popular and well-frequented)
The mall has a Spinney’s in the basement for daily grocery, Movie Theatre (Grand Cinema) and Children’s entertainment centre (Adventure Land) on the Top Floor along with the food court with the usual outlets (40+).
Adventureland has about 20 absolutely thrilling rides for the kids, including UAE's first indoor roller coaster, a multi-level train and water flume ride. Grand Cinema has only 6 screens but you are likely to find something interesting.
The rest of the mall has numerous fashion outlets. Debenhams and Marks& Spencer being the largest stores in this mall.
One thing I can never forget is the IGLOO Ice cream stall which has a Tree with Ice Creams hanging from it (plastic not real). It’s a delight to watch.
I stayed near Sahara mall for about 3 months during which I used to visit it almost every week; now the frequency is less. It’s a great place if you are close by but not really that great that you would travel a distance to be there (You will surely have better options closer at hand)
