"i still have the receipt and the timing mentioned on it when we checked in and when we left and i have the table number and the manager name. thanks
i had visited chillis at Dubai mall a few weeks back and had the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant.. i was with family going for a special occasion lunch... we seated our self at a table near the serving area, and the waiter took 15 min to come and take our order. the starter came only 30 mins later... with a cranky child at the our table, we were all anxiously awaiting food that never came.. we were left sitting at our table for over 45 min after our entrees for our main course. no one came to enquire about the quality of the meal where the steaks we had ordered were overdone, tough and rubbery neither was the table cleared of the dirty plates. When we asked for the bill we found that our waiter had apparently left or wasn't anywhere to be found.
I am regular at chillis, their customer service is usually great at Dubai festival city, with the waiter and manager popping at your table to ask how is everything? which is also irritating at times when you have your mouth full of food! Last week i visited Chillis at Mirdif City Center and my waiter was a grumpy indian guy, who was very rude and not their usual smiling waiters that chills have, nor did their manager come to us to ask id all was ok? I felt the size of the Fajita combo that i had was shrunk with more onions & capsicum on my platter and the steak peices seemed less than what i eat at Festival City.
I was in a hurry and one of my friends had a birthday that day so i didnt want to spoil our mood and complain about the waiter! or i would have for sure!
The accompanying bread and salsa with my Fajita trio was brought in after 15 mins of serving the main dish and the grumpy waiter had to be reminded again to refill my cold drink glass! I loved the food at this branch like any other branch, but I would not go here again and would definately go to Dubai festival city for better service and maybe a larger portion of steak on my platter.
A place I used to love back in the day. 10 years ago, Chilli's was one of the best places to dine in, from the atmosphere to the upbeat staff to the funky ambience. Unfortunately, over the years, their food quality has dropped drastically. Steaks no longer taste juicy, are never the way you want them done, the staff seem somewhat indifferent now, all-the-more lost, and the managers on board barely manage to keep it together. I actually had to wait 20mins to have my order reach my table and even then it wasn't done the way i had asked. the manager was kind enough to get me a replacement at no cost, but second time around too the chef couldn't manage to get it right. To actually find it palatable was a relief. Their pastas still do entice me, and their molten chocolate cake still makes you want to indulge in a 3rd serving, but alas, that's their only saving grace. Wish something gets done about their food quality. Recommended only for pastas, and yes its still a decent place to take a family to.
