I'm not a huge fan of Italian food - it used to be my favorite but too much of a good thing really does turn you against it. But Frankie's is not your typical Italian restaurant, and anyway, I'd take any excuse to visit the Fairmont hotel.
This place is best for a low-key celebration or an intimate dinner; it's pretty, posh and dimly-lit. The menu is... unorthodox. You'll want to go through it a couple of times before making a choice.
I don't recommend the gnocchi (much too heavy), but the lasagna is good. The food is slightly too rich and the portions are a bit small, but the dessert is heavenly. I would steer clear of the typical pastas and go for something you've never tried before.
I also recommend you enjoy dinner indoors then take your dessert or after dinner drinks out to the outdoor area. The ambiance is quite charming.
