Unlike the other malls in the city, Khalidia mall definitely has a lack of good cafes. Mondo is one of the few places I enjoy there, however. The seating area is a little awkward, and it seems to be where a lot of guys were wasting time waiting for their wives/girlfriends to finish shopping. No families, as far as I could tell.
My friend and I both had orange juice, which was fresh and pulpy, just the way I like it, but despite asking for ice in one of the juices explicitly, they were both served ice-less. We shared an order of mini-burgers (three burgers - easily a single serving, but with a side it was good for us both) and a side of potato wedges, with came with cheese and green peppers and was delicious. We did want to try the sweet crepes, which sound great, but were too full. Price range about 45 dhs per person.
Good for a quick bite while you're between stores; not my first choice for a hangout spot.
The dessert! It's beyond. Of course, I'm an easy sell when it comes to sugary treats, so manbe I'm not the best judge.
The waiters, although friendly, are rarely...um, servicey? By no fault of their own, I suppose it's my accent they can't understand...I should really learn more Arabic that 'marhaba' and 'shukran'!!
Eh, not bad.
I've gotten some fairly decent service here. The food isn't spectacular, but it is good for a mall cafe. Overall, I can't complain about the place, but nothing really stood out for me. Maybe next time I'll try their self-branded chocolate?
