Food is great and meat is cooked as desired. They have a good view and the indoors have a nice and sophisticated feel, elegantly decorated, dimly lit, clean and with good faint music. As mentioned by another reviewer, you may request for a birthday song from the crew which we did as a surprise for a friend. Price i should say is a bit higher than other steak house outside shangri la, despite that, you get your money's worth and will definitely enjoy your food and experience. I personally am impresses when your waiter knows the food as i like to ask a few questions and suggestions, the crew did not fail me on this. The manager was really cool and even sat down with us for a few minutes to chat (of course, us permitting). It is not very often that customers would let them join the table for chit chat but we did to atleast know more about the place as it was our first visit. And again, I was not disappointed as he knows his product well. Their menu is great, had a hard time selecting everything sounded enticing. My first impression was that the place would not suit if you are bringing kids with you but was proved wrong. There were at least two families during that night with little kids and crew were very helpful and the children looked happy not to mention well behaved :) no dedicated area for kids though, which is understandable as it wont be fitting.
Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are available. Valet parking is free if you dine in any of the restaurants at the souk.
Perfect quality... perfect view... i love this place ... and i love all their meals and meat
and i think the price is almost cheap if u compare it with the other resturant in shangri-la
plus .. they offered to u a very traditional dance when u have ur birthday there(jut tell them that it is ur birthday ,, i want to dance to me the south african dance) and its free... i promise u'll enjoy
The Meat Co needs no introduction to meet lovers in Abu Dhabi. Except for Chamas, this other brother can stand proud as one of the best meat eating experiences in Abu Dhabi.
Nestled cosily on the mainland and part of the Souk At Qaryat Al Beri, the location is just perfect. Especially at night when you have a good view of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque across the water.
The South African hospitality is evident and the waiters go out of their way to be humorous, make suggestions and their knowledge of the menu and wine is impressive.
The dinner might cost you an arm and a leg, especially if you have a glass or two of wine also, and therefore it's recommended as a special dining experience for meat lovers only. Vegetarians will not feel too welcome amoungst the carnivores.
