MCC (Mirdiff City Centre) is one of the best places to shop at by far during Ramadan or otherwise.
When it was opening initially I was least bit enthusiastic and thought the last thing we needed in Dubai was another Mall, but boy was I wrong.
Especially during the Holy Month MCC is gone all out and has ensured that the atmosphere is kept in line with the Occasion and it also has umpteen number of sales and sweepstakes and give away, they also host giveaways everyday on their facebook page during the holy month.
The mall timings are varied depending on what your going in their for.
General Timing :
Sat-Fri 10:00am - 1:00am
Sat-Thu 10:00am - 1:00am Fri 9:00am - 1:00am
Restaurants, Food Courts, cafes and specialty food:
Sat-Fri 10:00am - 3:00am (Hopefully I have gotten it all right).
Another quality about MCC I especially like is that they are divided in Zones South, Central and North so it's just so easy for me to Park according to where I am headed. Carrefour and Exchange and Banks = North, Electronics and specialty restaurants Central Playnation and Cinemas South. Don't know where you're headed? Park anywhere it's a no fuss mall even going end to end is not tiring.
What my friends and I have been during Ramadan lately is we go in time for Iftar eat at Mango Tree (Amazing 4 course set Iftar Menu for AED 75) or one of the other restaurants then indulge in some shopping as they have sales throughout and then catch a movie and post that coffee, It's just perfect.
They have two food courts situated in South and North which is open all day so that helps too :)
HAPPY SHOPPING :)
This is one place that I keep going back to especially during Ramadan.
The place has everything that you would need to hang out with friends and family and spend some quality time during the late hours in the holy month.
Usually Sheesha places are not very well known for their food but MidPoint defies that theory it not only serves the best Sheesha in town but also excellent food and it has such a relaxed atmosphere.
The staff are always willing to help and they even modify the dishes as per your taste.
I usually go in by about 10.30pm and sit there playing cards having a nice mint sheesha and sharing dinner with about 5-10 friends up until 2.00 am.
During Ramadan it's open until 4.00am and I can guarantee quality service at a reasonable price. The Sheesha costs AED 32 and lasts you for about 3 hours straight. A dish I would recommend is the Pasta Carbonara costing AED 38 and good for 2. They also provide playing cards and have several games as an option.
It has mixed crowd and is not filled with one nationality in particular hence making it more relaxed and casual.
A definite must try :)
It helps transport you into a different era, the decor is traditional with a modern touch and oh so vibrant that's what made me stop and take a second look at the place and just plop myself on their oh so comfortable sofa with all my shopping bags. The fact that more than a handful of my friends had recommended it also helped.
If you're shopping close to the fashion arena in the Dubai Mall is place is ideal sure beats anything that the food courts would serve you.
Love the atmosphere and service makes you want to sit there for hours and the fact that it's so small and can't really accomodate alotta people helps.
It serves everything that a regular coffe shop would serve and more, the price is in line with quality, I suggest you try one of their thick shakes please don't let the amount of fat get to you.
The menu is diverse so lots to choose from, nothing has disappointed me so far so you're safe to order what you like.
Very friendly staff and I suggest you ask them what they recommend they have always served me well.
Next time you're at the Dubai Mall i suggest you pop in and give it a try :)
When I 1st cam into Dubai about 2n half yrs ago H&M was one of the 1st stores I shopped at and I have stayed loyal to it ever since.
This is my favourite brance as well and it being near the Dubai Mall Aquarium sure adds to it's charm.
It's spread out over 2 floors, and is located in the Ground and 1st floor of Dubai Mall. The ground floor has women's clothing and accessories and the 1st floor is for men.
The clothes are categorized well which makes shopping very easy and pleasant. They are always introducing new designers and collaborating with world famous designers as well to bring in designer clothing for less.
They have a wide variety of styles and sizes and they change stocks frequently.
The store is not very crowded except during sale so the fitting rooms are easily avilable and they have about 2 check out counters with about 4 cashiers.
The store is almost always well organized and you have someone or the other to assist.
They have both casual and formal wear and is utter chaos during sales as you get things at throw away prices.
Hope this helps happy shopping.
A place I used to love back in the day. 10 years ago, Chilli's was one of the best places to dine in, from the atmosphere to the upbeat staff to the funky ambience. Unfortunately, over the years, their food quality has dropped drastically. Steaks no longer taste juicy, are never the way you want them done, the staff seem somewhat indifferent now, all-the-more lost, and the managers on board barely manage to keep it together. I actually had to wait 20mins to have my order reach my table and even then it wasn't done the way i had asked. the manager was kind enough to get me a replacement at no cost, but second time around too the chef couldn't manage to get it right. To actually find it palatable was a relief. Their pastas still do entice me, and their molten chocolate cake still makes you want to indulge in a 3rd serving, but alas, that's their only saving grace. Wish something gets done about their food quality. Recommended only for pastas, and yes its still a decent place to take a family to.
This restaurant is on my hot list and one that I frequent. The place does not offer authentic chinese but American Chinese, which just means that the food is Americanized to a certain extent with it's flavours.
Warm friendly atmosphere, well decorated and a very sheak look I especially like the two horse aculpturs right at the enterance thats what made me go in the 1st time around.
No smoking inside, if you're going especially to dine in I suggest to make reservations as the place is usually packed.
Now coming to the main part the food, one of the better reaurants in Dubai I must say and they serve several healthy food options as well.
The menu is not very vast but I have tried almost everything and have not been let down by a single dish thus far so I'd say order anything.
There are two things that are an absolute must try though, the 'dynamite shirmp'from the starters and the oh so dilicious 'great wall'from the dessert section which is essentially a chololate cake but it's just out of this world (good for 2-3 people).
One thing that I specially like in this place is the personalized sauce, someone will come up to your table and offer to personalize a sauce for you, he will take you through an assortment of sauces and make one unique one for you as per your taste.
This place gets a 9/10 on my list, an absolute must try.
Jus returned from experiencing some authentic goan fare. As soon as you enter the place you notice the whole hustle and bustle and it's like you're transported to one of the more mordernized goan shacks.
They have kept the place clean fresh and very humble the decor is like any authentic goan house/shack.
The menu is not very extensive or expensive each dish be it starter or maincourse would range from 20-30 AED.
They have all the traditional goan dishes and the beef and fish dishes are in abundance and they only have 2 chciken and prawn dishes in their main course.
The starters are fairly extensive and I recommend the chilli pork sausages and the potato chops.
For the maincourse you might consider the beef masala curry served with a portion of rice or bread depending on what you prefer, it's spicy and scores 10/10 on my list.
They don't allow smmoking in-doors and they have no specific kids area though you find large groups of families dining in.
The waiters are very friendly but service is slow, they serve you a bowl of popcorn when you are seated which I rommend you don't touch as they are fairly burnt.
They have a live band playing on all days who are really good and you are free to request them to sing a song of your choice and people usually get up and dance to the tunes.
If you looking for absolutely casual dining, some authentic goan food, a homely atmosphere and some good music then this is the place to be.
It's my highlight whilst shopping, this is where you will find me during my shopping breaks.
In the lowfat yoghurt category pinberry is No.1 on my list. This is the best tasting yoghurt I have found thus far.
The interiors are very well done that's the 1st thing you notice when you enter the place that it's a very creative concept.
The staff are very prompt and never rush you and give you sufficient info and always ask yu if it's your 1st time so they can take you through it.
Coming to the most important part of why I go to Pinkberry in the 1st place, the yoghurt is to die for and it comes in green-tea, mango, original and pommergranate flavours. I always go for a dual original and mago they are the best.
They have a wide selection of fresh fruit toppings which are fresh and not soaked like in someother places. they also have other wider range of toppings to choose from but I prefer the healthir option.
A medium yoghurt with 6 toppings would cost you AED 32 which is worth the spend.
I highly recommend pinkberry as it fairs well in every aspect and is defintely a much healthier option then the other creameries.
WARNING : be prepared to go back for seconds and thirds
After a bit of shopping at festival city, we wanted to have dinner at a nice place and skip the whole foodcourt bit. The lady at the cutomer information sure was a gem and Fish & co. is on of the places she gave us as a person recommendation and I'm glad she did.
The place is very simple in aspect of decor but very cheerful. You don't need prior reservations so that's a relief.
The hostess was a little slow in attending to us so that was bit of a let down.
The food though is very good and substantial portions as well. Their seafood platter is universally acclaimed and has won several awards. Once you have it you will know why it gives you, prwans, calamari, squid and fish and they are all so juicy succulent and flavourful. Please ask them for their peri peri sauce as it's something that you won't get elsewhere and goes well with most of their dishes.
My friend had the whole sea bass which is also very popular and was equally good.
it's a no fuss envirinment and good to go with the entire family as well. they don't have a wide selection but the food matches with the price and is of excellent quality.
They don't have any kids specific zones and you can't smoke nor do they have any music or entertainment or alcohol.
If you want to have a quiet evening in a comfortable environment with good food then is is definately for you. A meal for two would cost you about AED 250.
A salad, maincourse, dessert, and a bottle of sparkling water will set you back by AED275, but it's well worth it.
I was sold the minute I walked in, the hostess was really quick to greet us and have us seated by the time you have been seated you are handed down and introduced to 3 people.
The waiter assigned to you ensures you're well taken care of from the time you are seated untill you leave.
I highly recommend the grilled chicken it's the best I have ever had, they serve you two kinds of chicken a portion of spinich and it's laid on a bed of mashed potatoes which are out of this world.
They have a very good selection of alcohol and a wide list of coctails and wines included.
They have well divided zones smoking, non-smoking, out-door and if you're willing to spend then a VIP area which requires an AED300 spend per person.
The regular seating is good in it's self as you are treated like royalty to begin with. it has an amazing atmosphere and is very vibrant. They have club or house music playing and I suggest you wear smart casuals or formals.
For dessert the dark chocolate foundant with cappachino ice-cream is an absolute must try it's something you won't want to share so please order two if you have to.
They have no kids area and to be honest I never saw any kid's there, they do have velet service so it does make things easy.
All-in-all a great dining experience, shoule be on your must try list.
This is by far my favourite cinems in Dubai. Due to the large number of screens 22 in all you have a rather wide selection of movies at all times.
I sugguest going to the 2nd floor and buying your tickets as the queue's are much shorter and you're done pretty quick.
Their 3D tickets are cheaper than the rest AED 45 compared to AED 50 that other cinemas offer and the 3D glasses are much better in comparison as well.
you can buy you're snacks to munch on while relaxing in spacious seats and good leg room at every floor and has a good verity as well.
I would suggest calling in advance during weekends as the Mall is pretty packed.
If you're looking for a romantic evening with great food look no further, one of the most memorable evenings I have had thus far.
It started off by us reaching Al Qasar and heading towards to boats, a little boat sets you off on your journey where you get to take in the Dubai Sky line.
Once you arrive at Pai Thai you feel at home it's a quaint little place with limited seating so booking in advance is essential.
They even offer live entertainment on certain nights, the food is just perfect with all your regular Thai Dishes but with impecible quality and taste.
lovely ambience, excellent service and a true value for money one of the best Thai resteraunts I have been to though they offer nothing out of the ordinary on their menu, the taste is extraordinary.
I suggest leave your kids at home whisk away your loved one and get on that boat for a perfect eveining.
You won't find sheesha or alcohol here, but what will hand is a really fun and cool place to just hang out with friends and family.
Everytime I go to this place I lose myself and just become a kid again, they have a really fun and unique concept you get to try your hand at painiting.
So take the kid's there for a fun time or go with friends and travel back in time, pick up a cup and start painting leave it out to dry and they return the cup to you in a couple of days coated so that your painting however bad lasts. I drink from my self painted mug everyday always cracks me up.
You can find their page on facebook they always have competitions going on and win yourself some free couchers. They have a no fuss menu and serve good quick bites, a good place to relax and un-wind gives you value for money for sure.
Good decor and very warm and friendly staff. Highly recommend the place if your looking for a Cafe thats different then look no further head on over.
Ferrari World being the first Ferrari World theme park is reason enough to visit as it's bound to be EPIC.
If that's not enough then you would have to do it for the 20 odd rides that it has to offer, the worlds fastest roller coaster ride included at a shocking 240km/hr, some good food, amazing classic ferrari cars on display and excellent ferrari merchandise at the ferrari store modern and classic included. Now that should be penty a reason to head there right away.
The rides are divided well, Adults, Kids and family the they have their general entry price at AED 225 per adult and AED 165 per child.
The VIP entries are steep and to be honest you really don't need it.
You have the ferrari staff at every 10metres so there is no chance of getting lost and they give you a map upon enterance as well.
you can park very easily and also most of the park is covered so you can visit all year round. Suitable for the entire family.
I would highly recomment two things as a must do The Formula Rosa which is the fastest ride and I was scared might rip my hair out but was totally worth it and the Lagara show the gymnastics were breathtaking.
All-in-all a fun filled and adventuares day a must try if you're visiting the UAE.
I have to honestly admit that this is by far one of the best hotels to stay in when in Abu Dhabi.
I not only stay here myself when in Abu Dhabi but also have a cooperate tie up with them and have all my staff and clients stay there when we have shows.
The brand name Fairmont itself assures you of impecible quality.
They have 24hrs room service and good retaurant options incase you want to eat ooutside your room.
You get more than your money's worth and always chwck with them for special prmotions you can also make your reservations online if you want to get a better deal. You usually get a breakfast buffet included which is contenetial food and one of the best by far.
Internet service is offered with a charge or free depends on the type of booking check-in check-out time is standard 2:00pm and 12:00 noon though they do make exceptions for early check-in and late check-out by 2hrs without an additional charge depending on room availability.
The facilities offered are in line with the standard, gym, pool, sauna etc though I usually don't get the time to enjoy them.
You always get what you want and you never have to ask twice for anything I highly recommend this hotel be it on business or just for a weekend get away.
Yet to find broast chicken to match that served by KFC.
Agreed it's not the healthiest option but on your days of break from your diet you can certainly indulge in some fast food especially this heavenly broast chicken loved by millions.
It's easy on the pocket a snack box for less than $ 3. I usually have the snack box with a cookie crusher drink Slurp and $ 5 is good enough.
It's usually better to take away but if you do want to dine in this joint is good it's very casual and clean no smoking or any off that though just a no fuss joint with self service.
The price and quality match sometimes you get more than your money's worth even. If you want to experiment try the chicken wrap.
Go ahead set your diet aside for a day
Chilli's - One of the best casual dining restaurant's in town though the taste is not as good as it used to be a few years ago.
I highly recommend their buggers and The dessert section. The Molten Chocolate is my all time favourite I even crave for it in the middle of the night sometimes (not kidding).
The service is good and has a very casual atmosphere it to it you can even go in your shorts and Flip- Flops :).
The prices are in line with the quality and they have smoking and non-smoking areas they do not serve alcohol though and you won't find velet parking or kids specific areas.
All in all just a get in eat enjoy and get out kind off place.
