I would like to say something about rates comparatively....
It is often assumed that Carrefour (and other hypermarkets in the UAE) are usually the cheapest places to go shopping. That's not always the case. In general, Carrefour is probably cheaper for a trolley load of groceries than supermarkets such as Spinneys and Waitrose, but not necessarily compared to the Co-operative stores like Union Co-op and Emirates Co-op. And often there will be individual items that are priced cheaper in other locations.
If you have the time, it is worth checking prices of larger goods such as home appliances. Sometimes there are special offers available in other locations, and occasionally, electronics retailers such as EMax, DG Sharaf, Compume, etc will have the same products for a lower price.
For those who are really keen to do some driving, occasionally you'll find the same item priced differently in different Carrefour shops (perhaps in different emirates only).
However, if time is of the essence, and you want to get everything at once, (except for the kitchen sink), then Carrefour is a good enough place to go.
Happy Shopping :-))
Special about IKEA, Who don't know :-)))
For those who don't know, Ikea sells most furniture disassembled. Which means shelves, tables, chairs, desks, etc can be packed flatter and they'll fit into your Volvo stationwagon with ease (then again, a Swedish Chef and his complete kitchen would probably fit into a Volvo stationwagon). When when you get home, you unwrap your goodies, look for the assembly instructions which usually have a couple of diagrams of how to turn the special key provided and what the assembled item looks like, find a plastic bag with one less bolt than the number required, scratch your head for a while, and eventually find the maintenance guy and give him 50 dhs to put the blasted thing together. Or if you're Swedish and female, there is bound to be a copious supply of willing DIY male carpenters at any of the Dubai watering holes desperate to show off how clever they are. At least you save yourself 50 dhs that way since they'll be embarrassed enough when they fail to put the furniture together, that they'll pay the maintenance guy themselves.
The Ikea product line includes both home and office furniture, bathroom fixtures, beds and bedding, kitchen accessories from napkins to complete kitchens (minus the whiteware though), children's furniture, shelves and cupboards, pictures and picture frames, plastic plants, and wicker baskets to put everything in. Pretty well almost everything non-electrical that you need make your home a sweeter home.
A 10,000 dirham shopping spree at Ikea should be enough to kit out a 1 bedroom apartment with bed, sofa, table, chairs, desk, and most of the other bits and pieces needed. Take AED 15,000 if you're feeling generous, leave out the sofa and desk if you want to spend just 5,000 dirhams. Double or triple the amount for 2 or 3 bedrooms.
Happy Shopping :-)
India Palace which is Located at Garhoud, One of the Best Restaurant i must say, India Palace is very easy to find, If anyone who don't drive can take a metro & get down at GGCO stop & just 5 min walk you will find this Fantastic restaurant. When i first went to this restaurant, i was felt as if i am really entering a Palace :-)), at the entrance this person who welcome us with their attractive uniform, Indian style, turban on their head, smile on the face, feels very good, then as soon as you enter you will see a man sitting near the entrance & sell those bangles, some traditional earrings, new & old fashion jeweleries etc, I liked it the way they have made the restaurant, then there is 2 places where you can have your meal, one is common which is down floor, & the other for the families & one area for some big group or any get together. They have a good serving people, guide us wish dishes we can try, etc. One more thing i like about the sitting area for family, it has a separate door, you can say individual room for each family with the door, when your food is ready they knock the door & present the meal, i like the idea very much, even one more thing is that, if you missed something to order, there is a small bell near to u, which you can press & they come, this is one of the best thing i found in India Palace, everything is just near to u, & they have a quick service, with delicious food, till now i have visited 3-4 times, every dish is just delicious, i can't describe any one, there is so much to say about that restaurant, each & every moment i enjoyed, I would like to suggest people to go & enjoy your meal, specially to those people who are not from India, you can say foreigner, who wants to know India that has traditional & culture. I am sure they will like it, even if Indian will go they will like the more, as they are aware of all those things that i said. So i wish all of them who will try to visit first time will find it helpful. Good Luck & Enjoy ! :-))
St.Maxim's which is located in Mall of the Emirates, as soon as i enter the place, i was felt good, we had a fabulous Elite gathering, what i was expecting from the group i got it which i am satisfied. Now when i come to serving, i can see the servings, presentation everything was good, but the person who was serving needs more training, i guess she was the head amongst the rest, she needs to be polite, she should know how to handle the guest, for me the first impression is the last impression, which i give & like to see from others, Firstly the dishes are OK kind of to me as i ordered my starter as Mushroom, i was not expecting what i though, but anyways, for me to try new things is always an a good experience, still i would suggest all my friends to go once, but in the same time i would like to give the tip on how the dish is suppose to be taken in, as its on "STONE" main concept of that stone which act as a mini gas u can say, where they serve half cook which we need to flip it to get it cooked, which i was not aware of it how exactly it works, it doesn't take much time, it just get cooked in few min, just need to keep on flipping (turning up & down),take a bite & talk as u talk it gets cooked, About this Stone dish i would like to say that every restaurant has their own unique way or serving or the dishes, i would like to see in such restaurant that as soon as one is served i would like to be given a small demo on that, like help us out before hand by saying this particular dish is suppose to be eaten like this, or it looks like that, as i said " Stone dish" which is half cook, which i guess no one will think of it, & at the bottom u will see its getting burned at the same time, hehehehehe, :-)) Concept is really very good, just need the guidance before we start. I like to explore more places & like to taste new dishes i like the same thing here new style & the new taste with the good concept, but if the serving people are more friendly then you enjoy more, which i always like to see, friendly environment is a must in every restaurant, that is the good way of enjoying the meal. Rude people spoils everything, which i did not like it much in St. Maxim's, to keep your place moving there should be a good care taker, & the restaurant was not so surrounded by much people, it was bit quite place, Otherwise the rating is Ok. :-)) Good Luck to all who trying to visit, Enjoy Your meal.
I like the way it is! the mall has it all from coffee shop to kids facility to enjoy their times. Garments for gents and ladies are absolutely inspiring. Information boot very well satisfied, Grocery outlet from 01 year old to old enough! My only comments for this high exclusive shopping mall is the long que for taxi and the bad behavior of taxi drivers, actually they choose passenger to take, but thanks for management of the mall it has an agent to assist passengers way to taxi.

KidZania is a unique dual offering of entertainment and education for children. KidZania®, though it targets children aged from 4 to 15 years old, is a family experience. It is a kid-sized replica of a real city, with streets, buildings, retail and vehicles moving around the city – all scaled down to children's size. It involves role playing and the children are encouraged to take on a variety of parts, from doctor and firefighter to banker and policeman. Kids wear the uniform and perform the role they are playing and thus learn the complexity of the adult world.
