First things first, their chocolate cake is really good. I highly recommend it for all chocolate lovers. Their smoothies and juices are also tasty, with the coffee also top notch. The shisha is also good, I would personally stay away from the lemon & mint as it tastes more like soap. Now to the management: The head manager is not the kindest person, he can be quite rude when saying there are no more seats available. Also, there is a large sign at the bottom of the terrace giving the number to call for reservations. A. they rarely answer the number B. they apparently don't take reservations. I would also avoid this place like the plague during Ramadan. They blast bab al hara so loud that you can barely hear what anyone is saying, and the ventilation is so bad one feels as if they are suffocating. I hope Rawaq sorts out these problems because it's a really nice and affordable cafe in a great location.

  • Review by Nour of Monte Carlo Beach Club
    7 years ago
Monte Carlo Beach Club is known to be quite pricey, luckily the summer special is on making it much more affordable to go to. 175 Dirhams for entry, and kids enter for free. The pool is nicely chilled, the beach is relaxing, and the facilities are very clean and organized. Note that the cabanas on the pool are not free and you'll have to pay extra for that luxury. This beach club's sore spot is the service. It took them around 20 minutes to bring me a water (which is complimentary). The next bottle of water will cost you around 20 Dirhams, but note that you will have to wait another 20 minutes for this water. The food was tasty and fresh. I enjoyed a wagyu cheeseburger that came with sweet potato fries and was absolutely delicious, 90 dirhams well spent! Overall, this is a nice place to come to during the hot Abu Dhabi summer if you don't mind slow service, and if you enjoy silence. Otherwise, head to the Park Hyatt for a day use room, or the Hiltonia.

This place is perfect for the sport enthusiast, or just the person looking to buy some new tennis shoes. So many brands to choose from! Nike, Adidas, The North Face, and the list goes on. The good news is, there is always some sort of sale or special offer. Sometimes you can get lucky and get Nike and Adidas products for up to 50% off. They sell sports equipment like punching bags, boxing gloves, treadmills, medicine balls, and yoga mats. There is also a great selection of work out clothes for both men and women. The Nike products tend to be the most pricey. The organization of this place is probably it's low point. The Nike section is nicely arranged, while the rest of the store is very messy. Lots of the shoes are in their boxes on a table (basically it's self service). There is one small dressing room which is usually full. They don't have a refund policy here, so I would recommend trying your clothes on just to be sure. Happy shopping!

I've been suffering with some back pain for the past year. Every doctor i've seen diagnosed me with different problems. One quick (15 minute) consultation, and I was told it was something much more simpler than what everyone was telling me. Although the villa the medical center is in is a little bit old, and the waiting room isn't extremely welcoming in terms of furniture and lighting, the receptionists are great. They will call you a day in advance to confirm your appointment, and will help you make sure you get an appointment at a time that suits you. They speak both Arabic and English. Also, as long as you arrive on time, the doctor will never see you later than your scheduled appointment.I recommend Dr. Steven Marsland. He's really really good at what he does, and you'll start to feel better after just one session! I was charged 450 Dirhams for the first consultation, and 250 Dirhams for the sessions after. My insurance (Daman) covers the my sessions here. Parking your car is very easy in the morning (9 AM to 11 AM) but turns into a bit of a nightmare until around 4 PM. Plan ahead if you don't want to be late for your appointment!

This review is about the women's section! Their clothes fit a smart or business casual setting, but are very stylish. A good selection of dresses that can be dressed down for a day time outing or dressed up for the night. The material of the clothes are very good, which means you can expect the clothes to be pricier than your average Zara dress. I bought a lovely knee length dress for about 850 Dirhams, but have been able to wear it to weddings and daytime events. Warning: Their high heels are not comfortable, you're better off investing in a more expensive pair if you really need heels, or head to Zara if you're just looking for a quick fix. Their evening bags are very stylish, classy, and durable! also can be used during the day and night. he staff are sweet and helpful, and will tell you if something does not suit you. Honesty can be very refreshing these days! Overall, this is a lovely store for basic, sleek, and stylish clothing.

My favorite store in Al Wahda Mall. Great selection of both English and Arabic books, and most at decent prices. I usually can buy four or five novels for 200 Dirhams. The kids section is also extensive (great as gifts for the young ones). They also have some A Level and IB books for sale, but if you urgently need one, you should call ahead to make sure they have it in stock. If they don't, they are always happy to order one for you from another branch. The stationary section is also quite nice, but rather over priced. I would stick to the books for this store!
  • Review by Nour of Miss J Cafe
Miss J is really one of the only bakeries in Abu Dhabi that is efficient and on time when it comes to ordering a personalized cake. They also have ready made large, and mini cakes if you're in a rush. I would recommend their chocolate cake, moist and decadent!! Not too expensive but nicely made, and delicious. Good value for money. Unfortunately their strength is only in cakes. The other items on the menu don't always taste as fresh as you would expect. Chicken in the salads taste old, and sauces on spaghetti taste dull. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Miss J over its neighbor Le Pont!
  • Review by Nour of Lulu Hypermarket
Although it is huge and sometimes overwhelming, Lulu really has everything you need, and the prices aren't so inflated like some other grocery stores in the city. The whole store is very organized and everything is quite easy to find. There are always associates around to answer any questions you may have. They have also started selling Quinoa which I can't find anywhere else in the city! All in all, the sometimes stressful experience of grocery shopping in Abu Dhabi has become much easier.
  • Review by Nour of Left Bank
If you're looking for a good night out with friends at a place smaller than a night club, Left Bank is the place to go. Good music, lots of tables to sit at, and a decent sized dance floor. Service is fast and efficient. If you're really hungry, avoid Left Bank. The food is Tapas style. Great if you're looking to munch on something, but not if you haven't had lunch. Left Bank doesn't get loud until after 9:30 PM. Before, you can have a drink at ease and chat with a friend without the bass interrupting your conversation.

If you want to compare this branch to a typical BR branch in the USA, there's not much missing. The store in Al Wahda mall is very well organized, and has great service. The staff are friendly and helpful. They are not pushy when it comes to selling you clothes, but they will do their best to find you your size, and they're willing to order the piece from Dubai if that's what you really want. My only concern are the collections. BR is famed for its heritage and Madmen collection of the 2012/13 season, and they unfortunately don't sell those collections here in the UAE.
  • Review by Nour of Paris Gallery
In terms of selection, Paris Gallery has all the designer brands of perfumes and make up. If you're used to basic brands like Nars, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, don't even approach PG. They've got the Chanel, Burberry, Bobbi Brown, etc. They have a fair selection of watches, and a very limited selection of purses. I'm not a fan of the service. If you like to shop at ease, without someone breathing down your neck watching your every move, I would stay far away from PG. The staff are looking to sell anything you look at, and they do not like it when you test make up on yourself without them watching.
  • Review by Nour of Sho Cho
Hands down, Sho Cho is the best Japanese restaurant in town, definitely beating Toki in the Corniche Hilton. I would definitely recommend the salmon skin roll, and the ginger salad. Their raspberry mojitos are also delicious if you don't mind a mojito being extra sweet. A little on the expensive side, but the food and the experience make up for it. Sho Cho is not family friendly for dinner. If you are irritated by people dancing next to your table while you eat, it's best you avoid the restaurant after 10:00 PM as it turns more into a lounge and a strict 21+ policy is implemented, big scary bouncer in the front and all. Aside from the food, the music is the highlight of this place. DJGEM and DJ Alex Lees play some terrific music. Fridays are 80's and 90's nights which are a blast!
