The portions are just too small considering how much you end up paying. The quality of the food has been going downhill and the staff can't seem to handle a crowd.

The food at Jones really isn't worth what you pay for it. I'm speaking specifically about the restaurant, because the bakery is quite good. But the restaurant is quite average. The best dishes they have are quite average. The worst ones almost made me gag. The portions are also not worth what you pay for. While some thing their modern style of seating is cool and hip, I honestly am not able to find a less comfortable chair. Anyways unless you are a regular client and fan of Jones the Grocer, i'd say perhaps it's not the best place to go in a city full of options

My first visit with Jones was not what I have expected it to be. I have heard that the place is good, serving gourmet food, which also sells organic food and has a cheese room.
I went out for dinner with three of my friends, the appetizer was good until we came to our main course; i ordered chicken, my friend had this seafood pasta, one had a burger and the other fish and fries. the serving dish used was this wooden chopping board like dish. That alone gave me an uneasy feeling knowing that these are being reused. Some particles from previous serving may still be stuck in those wooden plates, i don't know. But anyways, that was not gonna spoil my appetite; then there i saw this small smashed and dead cockroach in my plate. you will see it on the photo i will upload (top of plate to the left, almost mid section of the photo). Having lost my appetite and my speech at the unfavorable surprise, my friend called the waiter to have it replaced, i requested to have it in a proper plate and not on these wooden boards. My friends have checked theirs and unfortunately we have found another one, under his fish & chips; again smashed and stuck to the dish. These too was replaced by them and was served on a normal ceramic plate. As consolation, they have offered complimentary coffee. Although I believe coffee cannot compensate the unsanitary state of their serving dishes. The creatures could have easily been mixed up with our food. It was imperative that they have not check the plate before serving them to customers; more, why do they have this infestation in their kitchen?!!! One thing is for sure, i will not go back; maybe yes to purchase sealed items but definitely not to dine.
But for those who are still interested, they have outdoor parking spaces; the atmosphere is good; price range is reasonable (before discovering the roaches).

Jones the Grocer has the WORST SERVICE in town!
Did you really went on Friday or Saturday morning and tried the breakfast? Whenever you ask for something on the menu the response will come "sorry madam already finished!" plus the bill takes ages to arrive.
At Jones the GROSSER, they put a lot of effort to only dissapoint you, with a realy bad ATTITUDE!

Good food, eclectic ambiance but way too pricey! I would not mind going there once in 6 months... I loved the Fish n Chips.... really delicious...

Now this is like a little piece of heaven that dropped down in Abu Dhabi. Far above the average bakery or coffee shop.
One gets the feeling that your meal was prepared especially for you and not just a cook who plopped down a piece of patty on a burger. The various tastes I've experienced here, redefined my vocabulary of words like 'succulant' and 'scrumptious'.
If you want quality, you'll have to pay for it and therefore Jones is not one of the cheapest out there, but at least you get what you pay for and more.
The crowd here is also very nice. My kind of people. You won't find crazy children running around banging each other with trays and menus like in many of the other places.

This is the place to go when your ready to eat an expensive but sophisticated meal. They have types of food you never heard of, types of cheese you never heard about, drinks you never saw in your life. This is what I want something new and fresh in my life. The service there is spectacular. The people serving you are always there if you need to call them. The ambiance is so warm and inviting. The environment makes the illusion of a warm yet soo cool. I love how we can go and see how the food is prepared, or that mostly everything is on display and you can pick from display. And how there are specialty dishes that the chef makes especially for you.

i Love the place!! Great quality & taste! Lovely ambiance, one of my favorite places to hang out as it is just next to my home.I have been there many times and never been disappointed, staff is pleasant & smiling, always ready to help in case one cant make up the mind, the outdoor shaded dining area is awesome especially the atmosphere at night is worth enjoying, their fish & chips i love the most, spaghetti needs a round of applause too, with caesar salad & some red orange juice. The Aussie taste of their fine blend tea is great too.If you are fond of chocolate, then dont forget to try ''GinGer ChocoLate'' which is one of a kind. Cleanliness at its top. A lil pricey but it compensates with the rest of the positiveness all around, valet parking is available wchich makes it more easier,i have already invited my friends and family over there many times,so definitely will recommend others to go & enjoy!!4 found this review useful

I can't entirely make up my mind about this place. Everything is good...but...
The service was really professional and fast...but it seems they're just trying to empty up the table
The food was EXCELLENT...but the portions are pretty small (I'm used to LARGE american style breakfasts).
The ambiance is pleasant...but the seats aren't comfortable (and if it's crowded, you're basically eating with the people next to you)
It's still nice when it's empty

Yes! That french toast! It's marvelous.
I think the key is to find out when this place is empty and head there. I really don't enjoy that most of the time the people at the next table can hear my entire conversation.
Do they have outdoor seating? I hadn't noticed. That would be great, I think.3 found this review useful

I like this place. It's alright. Sun comes through nicely through the full windowed front (if you're not sitting outside) and spills out warmly into the place.
The service is quite efficient, and the food is gourmet-good. I've only really had breakfast items there, so I don't know what the rest of the menu looks like but the french toast with vanilla topping...just wow.

this place is great. my favorite thing about it is that it's one of those real 'abu dhabi' places you know? to put it bluntly, it's not all jeans & t-shirts and it's not all kandooras/dishdashes either. it's a healthy mix of both and very representative of our society.
the food is excellent, really well prepared and presented - and it's filling without leaving you over the top stuffed
and remember to grab a bagel on your way out!!
oh: unless you're a hardcore cheese fan, you might not want to step into the fromagerie (the smell is really overwhelming, thank God it's closed off!)
